Fall For Food

It has been quite the discovery that fall is a favorite for many. Not Summer or Spring but Fall. Is it the nippy air or crimson leaves? Is it the weak orange sun or the carpet of leaves? Or the pears, apples, squash, and pumpkins? Or the knee high boots, cherry red totes, and brown leather jackets? Or is it the air of mystery with Halloween?
The fall festival that makes me feel like a child reading the Enchanted woods, with the magic Faraway tree and its elves, gnomes, pixies and fairies. Something about Autumn says warmth, soulful and beautiful endings and last but not the least baking. Baking, baking and more baking.

The melting butter, the mixing in the soft flour, whipping the eggs and cream, pinch of salt or nutmeg or cinnamon or bowl of sugar sprinkled in, with the delicious aroma of baking seeping into every nook and corner of your home.

I think the baking is the best of Fall. My fall fantasy meal starts with butternut squash soup, followed by a gooey but occasionally crunchy baked pasta and cauliflower, ending with a pumpkin pie with vanilla ice-cream . Bon Appetite for fall, food and fantasy.
